07.22.18 Sunday Message

I love receiving inspirational AND comical posts from my girlfriends (click here to my Instagram and swipe through for some of my favorites!). These gal pals are strong, FUNNY and crazy women who keep me on my toes and laughing! 🤣 I always look forward to scrolling through my phone for their text messages after a hard day’s work. 🎤💃 One of these besties is my long-time friend Cheryl. I made sure to stop in to visit her before flying out after our concert in Utah this week. It’s a no-brainer knowing that when we get together, we ALWAYS end up with way more laugh lines on our faces than we desire! I cherish these moments that are filled with non-stop uncontrollable laughter. 😂 I won’t even tell you about our four-hour airplane flight 10 years ago, where literally, the stewardess came up to us and said, “Would you like me to drop the oxygen masks for the two of you?” 😁 Maybe, I’m still making up for the teenage sleepovers I never got to attend. 😂👍

Cheryl has been a dear friend of mine forever! She’s so gifted. You should see the beautiful weddings she designs! She has assisted me with numerous magazine, doll and craft projects, including helping me with the flowers 💐 for both my parents’ and my sweet son’s funeral services. Cheryl is a true friend in every sense of the word—the kind you call on last-minute when you’re so stressed and you don’t know what to do.  And when she sees my caller ID pop up, she answers the phone saying, “Okay, how many days do we have?” (she knows me well) 🤪 and my response is usually, ‘In 12 hours!’ Within the blink of an eye and before you know it, its done perfectly and with a lot of laughs! ♥️😉

Cheryl is such an amazing talent and a great example of unconditional love and service. 💕 A single Mom to her wonderful kids, some of whom are adopted (and like me, she can’t remember which ones either!). This life has thrown Cheryl some incredibly rough curve balls. Sometimes, they’ve come out of nowhere at speeds that are way too quick for most pros to handle. ⚾️😢 Yet Cheryl remains resilient and true and faithful to God. 🙏 The best thing about this sweet sister of mine is that she finds joy in the simple things in life, as mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Research has proven that laughter IS the best form of medicine. (Not just #MusicIsMedicine! 🤩🎶)

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22)

Laughter is said to: 1) Be Contagious, 2) Reduce Stress, 3) Boost Immunity, 4) Increase Resilience, 5) Combat Depression and 6) Relieve Pain.

Why do you think I keep working with Donny? 🤣😂🤣

According to Dr. Gulshan Sethi, “Laughter activates the body’s natural relaxation response. It’s like internal jogging, providing a good massage to all internal organs while also toning abdominal muscles.” Now this is my kind of health regime and exercise!!!💪🤣

It is said that, “Each of us has a spark of life inside us, and our highest endeavor ought to be to set off that spark in one another.”

May we spend this week setting off not just sparks in others, but let us create some memorable fireworks 💥... and spectacular moments!

Pick up the phone, ring up an old pal, carve out time together, and create some meaningful and hilarious new memories to look back on for years to come. Enjoy 🎉 and remember, you “Might As Well Laugh About It Now” and in-CREASE... those beautiful laugh lines. 🤣📚💋
