11.11.18 Sunday Message

Do you ever feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day! I know I do! I was asked Friday night by a sweet woman at the meet and greet at Flamingo Las Vegas if I ever get overwhelmed and tired? She said, “You do so many things, from your career to your large family, I get tired reading about you! 🤣 How do you manage it all?” My answer to her was, I don’t! I’ve learned from trial and error to stay away from me trying to do it all and I let God help me do it all, more wisely!

Let’s face it though, we are all human and there are those times in life when it just feels way too busy, right?! It’s humbling to realize, we just can’t do anymore! And the BUSY, can often make life overwhelming!!

In these times, when life starts getting the best of us, it can lead to stress, anxiety, and even depression... the list goes on. It can become a dark spiral that—once it starts pulling you downward—can feel like it might become too hard to rise back up. It's definitely something we cannot do on our own! During times like these we need to remember that God is so much more powerful than any obstacle. He tells us this in His scriptures time and time again, to turn to Him for rest!

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." ~Matthew 11:28-28

When I am well-rested, both physically and mentally, I’m significantly more clear-headed and wiser with the use of my time. For me, resting is like hitting the "reset" button. I don’t know how you reboot, but I personally achieve this by spending quality time with my family and find some quiet time to feel Gods love. It makes me so much more focused and refreshed... re-energized! By quietly listening, we feel more peace and direction. I know I would not be who I am today if I had not made this kind of “rest time” a priority. If we consciously SLOW down and trust God to guide our path, He WILL lead the way, and might even show us a shortcut or two! 🤣

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." ~Isaiah 40:31.

...I could have used this promise on Dancing with the Stars! 🤣😂🤣

So, what are we waiting for? Let us all take a moment to pause today and give our schedules back to God. After all, Sunday is the day of rest! 😉 May we strive to be still and listen and rely on His timing, and trust that God will lead us on the right path toward our divine purpose. Like it says in Psalm 46, “God is our refuge and strength—He dwells in His city, does marvelous things, and says, Be still and know that I am God."
