Marie is just back from the annual Toy Fair in NYC where she debuted her new dolls for 2008. It was a busy week, starting with her show on QVC; then on to New York to . . .(big scoop) . . . SCULPT a very exciting new doll that you’ll see in August of this year; then to her first-ever Boscov’s doll signing; then on to Toy Fair; and finally, home. When her DWTS co-hort, (and day-time hottie) Cameron Mathison heard she was in town and sculpting, he stopped by for a personal sculpting lesson and to reminisce about their stints on DWTS. She then invited him to Toy Fair to take a look at her dolls, where she surprised him by revealing that she is going to create his baby daughter as a doll for her line!
And speaking of guests at Toy Fair . . .Marie was doing an interview with ET in the booth, when out of no-where appeared Donny! He had flown into New York to surprise his baby sis and to get her take on the new DWTS line-up for this season. (You can check that out on ET). While Marie was showing D. her DWTS dolls, Donny proved that the blue “Samba” dress (aka “the fainting outfit”), is cursed, as he accidentally dropped it to the ground, breaking it in two! (Now you see why Marie couldn’t trust Donny to play dolls with her in their youth!)
Marie also had some fun at Toy Fair with MTV’s Josh Lay as he interviewed her for a “Best Week Ever” segment. While showing him her Hershey Kisses 100 doll, Josh asked if he could get a kiss. Marie obliged!! She also said hello to long-time friends and fellow doll colleagues, Kathy & Janet Lennon of The Lennon Sisters, and sends a big thank you to sculptor, Karen Scott, for agreeing to co-sculpt a very special new doll!
